Innovamed at Farmaforum 2026: Spain’s healthcare sector analyses its challenges and opportunities

This week, the Innovamed Spain team attended Farmaforum 2026, the reference congress and trade fair of the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector in Spain, held on 22 and 23 Septeber at the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre. Two days in which industry, regulation, medical technology and healthcare came together to take stock of the sector.

For Innovamed, presence at events such as Farmaforum responds to a clear strategic need: to listen firsthand to the challenges facing medical device manufacturers and to reinforce our positioning as a reference industrial partner in Southern Europe.

A sector in regulatory and technological transformation

Conversations at the event revolved around several axes that Innovamed identifies as central to its daily activity:

• The regulatory pressure of MDR Regulation 2017/745: Notified Body timelines, the technical file documentary burden and post-market management remain the main friction points for manufacturers.
• The gap between innovation and industrialisation: projects with a solid scientific foundation that cannot find the partner capable of taking them to certified production in an ISO 7 cleanroom, with thermoplastic injection moulding, batch traceability and ISO 13485.
• The search for manufacturing partners who understand regulatory language: the demand for CMOs that bring not only production capacity but knowledge of the IQ/OQ/PQ framework and technical file is growing and increasingly explicit.

What Farmaforum confirms about Innovamed’s role

The context that Farmaforum maps out is, to a large extent, the context for which Innovamed was built. Manufacturing a medical device is not about moulding a plastic part, it is about documenting it, qualifying it and ensuring that every unit leaving the line is identical, traceable and compliant.
